Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Estimator to join our team at University Mechanical Contractors, Inc (UMC). As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for bidding and budgeting various construction projects, including Industrial Piping, HVAC systems, and mechanical installations. You will play a crucial role in coordinating activities from reviewing plans to preparing proposals.

General Position Summary:

• Bid and budget Industrial Piping, HVAC systems, and complex mechanical projects.
• Coordinate activities from plan receipt to bid preparation.

Essential Job Functions:

• File plans and drawings accurately.
• Take off scopes of work for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review specifications and drawings for estimates.
• Participate in bid activities and subcontractor/vendor coordination.

Position Requirements:

• Technical knowledge of mechanical systems and construction methods.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Field experience or technical background preferred.
• Proficiency in construction estimating and reading drawings.
• Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.

Qualifications:

• College degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 5 years of estimating experience in Industrial/Mechanical projects.
