Job Description

Johnson Regional Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis working weekends and evenings. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, maintaining quality control practices, and reporting results across various areas of the clinical laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in all clinical laboratory areas including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and more.
  • Lead designated clinical laboratory areas assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
  • Perform high-complexity testing and ensure accurate documentation of procedures.
  • Maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and stay updated on new technologies.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate laboratory equipment.

Physical Demands

This role involves exposure to biological, chemical, and mechanical hazards with physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, and more. It is considered a safety-sensitive position.
