Occupational Therapist - Part-Time

Job Description

The Calais School, a state-approved special education institution, is seeking a dedicated part-time Occupational Therapist to join our team. The chosen candidate will work with students from grades K through 12 Plus who have various learning disabilities and behavioral disorders, including anxiety, mood issues, and autism spectrum disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services as per students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Maintain student files and communicate with the case manager about IEP requirements and status reports.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the Occupational Therapy program through research and development.
• Supervise contracted occupational therapists and evaluate students' therapy progress.
• Screen occupational therapy skills and refer students for necessary services.
• Monitor students' progress through classroom observations and act as a resource at The Calais School.
• Deliver in-service workshops and information sessions to school staff as part of professional development.

Requirements

Certification as a New Jersey School Occupational Therapist is mandatory.
