Job Description

Mekiko Cantina is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the restaurant. As the General Manager, you will report to the Owners and be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, managing inventory and food costs, and enhancing the overall dining experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food preparation to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Manage staff by hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory, food, and beverage costs to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with chefs to create appealing menus.
  • Prepare operational reports and documentation as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and restaurant technology.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and hours.
  • Previous restaurant management experience preferred.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous relevant restaurant management experience.
  • Completion of a management training program preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move quickly throughout the restaurant.
  • Extended periods of standing or computer work.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
