Job Description

American Family Insurance is seeking a Property Field Claims Adjuster to join our Claims Services team in North St. Paul, MN. You will be involved in investigating and maintaining property claims, determining liability, and settling claims with a focus on customer service excellence.

Primary Accountabilities

• Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting relevant parties.
• Handle claims on a good faith basis.
• Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under various policy types.
• Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate claims.
• Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and close files efficiently.
• Interpret policies and determine coverages for assigned losses.
• Provide claim process information and status updates to all involved parties.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in customer-driven solutions.
• Experience with handling 1st and 3rd party claims across operating territories.
• Knowledge of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages.
• Understanding of the claim handling process.

Licenses

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing.

Additional Requirements

• 10% travel required with potential catastrophe duty up to 75%.
• Physical ability to ascend and descend ladders, move objects up to 50 pounds, and work in various conditions.
