Job Description
We are looking for a talented Diesel or Automotive Mechanic to join our team at First Student - the largest school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure safety and vehicle readiness for our school districts. You will also have the opportunity to guide and support lower-level technicians in their work.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance checks.
- Diagnose and perform repairs on various vehicle components such as brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and provide support for mobile emergency services.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- 1-5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
- Possess a mechanic's tool set and a willingness to participate in the ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
