Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Diesel or Automotive Mechanic to join our team at First Student. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure safety and operational readiness. Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT maintenance inspections on school buses.
- Diagnose and repair various vehicle components including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and provide guidance to junior technicians.
- Participate in mobile emergency services and assist with on-the-road vehicle issues.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- 1-5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience OR technical school education.
- Own a mechanic's tool set and be open to participating in the ASE certification program.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
